Detailed-Illusion

I am very overjoyed, proud, and simultaneously humbled to let those of you who were not at Otakuthon 2014's Masqarade Award Ceremony know that Miss Messy Mia and I (as team Detailed Mess) won Canada’s World Cosplay Summit's preliminaries and will be representing Canada in 2015. I also had the wonderful opportunity to judge the regular OtakuthonMasquerade Saturday night (before I found out the WCS results) and all I could think the entire time was HOW AMAZING Cosplay is in Canada, and how it would be the GREATEST honour to get to represent this country’s amazing talent. We will work hard to do you all proud on the world stage. 

I also want to congratulate ALL the other contestants- it took MAD GUTS to prepare costumes and get on the stage for WCS. All of you looked amazing and I’m honoured to have performed on the same stage as you all! A special hats off to my friends Calamity and MeltingMirror Cosplay (as team Polar Diamonds) who are the runners up! You two Cosplayers inspire me with your work, and your participation in the Cosplay community. You both deserve so much praise for what you do and I would love to conspire with you both to make amazing future cosplays together.

Otakuthon grows ever closer and and I are smashing our faces (and everything else) into these costumes to get them ready! Sorry for the lack of updates, but new content/photos, WIP's and a list of all the cons I will be attending will be coming down the pipeline soon! In the meanwhile, checkout my Facebook page, which is about the only thing I can keep updated atm!

I’m excited to announce that from July 18th-20th I will be attending ConBravo! in Hamilton, Ontario as a cosplay guest! I will be running panels (which I will detail closer to the date) and I’m bringing Thranduil and re-debuting a costume I only got to shoot with once! Between prepping for the World Cosplay Summit preliminaries and reworking my old costume, I have my hands full!

I am a proud to announce that together, and I will be entering the preliminaries for World Cosplay Summit this year at Otakuthon in Montreal. We are very excited to cosplay as two of our all time favourite characters: Sakura and Fai D. Flowright from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle! These costumes will be dominating my costume creation time for the next two months because, well - that embroidery!

So I'm going to be updating here A LOT more frequently now. I've been maintaining my Facebook ( www.facebook.com/DetailedIllus… ) as my main cosplay source, and still will be, but I'll be synchronizing all of my entries so that they are shared across both sites.

In other fun news, I'll be on tonight's episode of Heroes of Cosplay as they shoot up here in Canada for Pop Expo! Look for my Thranduil cosplay in the masquerade. I have no idea how they are going to portray me, or how long I'll even be on for, but I'm excited and freaked out at the same time!

I'll also be cleaning up my albums/pictures/re-organizing/etc., etc.
